Swimming Lessons

In July, Myles took swimming lessons.  Myles loves the water and will swim around like a little fish all by himself.  He was used to wearing his life jacket though. So to get into the water without it really made him mad.  The first day of swimming lessons was awful! He was screaming and wouldn't get in. I was so embarrassed and annoyed.  I should've been supportive and encouraging, but I wasn't.  His teacher kept saying how maybe he was just afraid of the water.  I knew that wasn't the case.
Myles and I had a long talk when we got home and we ended on a good note that he would try and get in the next day. He did great for the next two weeks! I was so happy for him and relieved.
Anyway, here are some pictures.

In Ely, there isn't a swimming pool yet (they are building one now). So we would go and swim at this cute pond called McGill Pool.  Cutest place ever! I really loved swimming there with the kids!
Here's Myles before lessons started.

This is what Wyn and I did during lessons. :)
My little sunbathing girl!

Myles loved the kick boards and did great with them!

Yay for finishing swim lessons!!
We will miss McGill Pool!!

Inventions!

One day back in July Myles watched "Meet the Robinsons."
After the movie he got super excited about inventing things.

I am not sure what he called this.  A rocket seat maybe?
It was super fun to create it together though.

The inventor in his invention.

He wanted to try and invent a peanut butter and jelly shooter just like in the movie.
This is it.
So cute!

And then we built a tape track on the floor.
Fun, fun!
I will really miss this boy when he goes to school next year.

Happy 4th of July!

This was our 4th of July this year.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Yes, I made us all get matching shirts. :)

Pierce and Daddy.

Wyn and Mommy.

All the boys waiting for the parade.

The parade got loud. :)

The scariest looking ice cream truck, I mean van?!

Some festive nails for the ladies of the house.

So this is the day after the fourth.
Every day I am so grateful I captured this exact moment of Myles.
Blowing bubbles!

June with the Ludwigs!

Piercey Pot Baby Boy turned 5 months old in June.
We now call him P Diddy! :)

Mommy and Pierce.

Kenny had to dig a big and very deep hole in our yard.
The kids weren't supposed to play in it, but sometimes it was just too darn tempting. :)

Best Buddies!

One night for Family Home Evening we played hide-and-seek.
This was Pierce's spot.  This was before he could really move around, so he was stuck under the table.

Wyn and Daddy in nearly matching shirts.

Wyn really loves to make Pierce smile, and he adores her.

We took a temple trip in June to the St. George temple.
We made a weekend of it. We had a great time and the kids loved these big trees across the street from the temple.

Families are forever.

The Color Run

At the end of May I did a color run here in Ely.  It was super fun, but I think it's the kind of run that would be more fun to do with someone else.  I couldn't get anyone to run it with me, but maybe next time!
Here are some pics of the fun morning.

Colorado in May

In May Kenny had a training to go to in Colorado.
He surprised me by buying tickets for all of us to go. One of my favorite people, Steph, lives there with her sweet family.  He knew I would love to see her.
It was such a fun trip!!

We left on Mother's Day.
I must say that I probably looked so stressed out that whole day.
Trying to get 3 kids and luggage through an airport is one crazy adventure.

Myles and Wyn looking out at the airplanes.

On the airplane.
The kids were awesome on the plane.
Myles and Wyn laughed their heads off during take-off and landing.
Pierce nursed and slept.

Myles with his buddies Gracie and Ty.
Myles doesn't always get along well with kids his own age, but he LOVED Gracie and Ty.
They had so much fun together!
Right here they are playing at an outdoor mall.

Wyn playing at the mall.

Somehow Steph got all the kids to sit on the bench and smile. :)

One of the days we met up with my old roommate, Annie, and her littles.
We took the kids to the zoo.
It was so fun all of us old roomies hanging out again!

A carousel ride.

This was Wyn and Zac's first date. :)
They were so funny to watch together.

My beautiful friend!
She is the best!!

Steph and Kev took us to a Rockies game.
It was our first baseball game together.
So fun!

And this is the worst picture of me in the history of pictures, but I had to include it because it is the only picture we got together. Dang it!
I just love Steph and her family! It was SO great to see them!!
Thanks for all the fun Jenkins Family!!

Watermelon!

My little watermelon eaters!
