Official Owners of a Two Year Old

It's hard to believe our little man is 2! His birthday was yesterday and although he was excited about cupcakes, balloons, and presents I think I was more excited. We had a fun day together. Kenny had the day off which was excellent! Here are a few pics of our big, little man.
Starting the day off with his favorite breakfast. Chex!
Daddy and our little Wynni Woo (Kenny does not approve of that nickname, but I can't help it!) sleeping on the couch while Myles and I had breakfast. :)

He's starting to get the hang of opening presents, which is so fun!

We had a very "Cars" birthday, which I think we'll be having for the next few years. We even had wheel noodles for lunch!
He loved his Lightning McQueen candle! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Ludwig! He kept saying, "Turn candle on."

He actually ate his cup cake! Well okay, he ate the frosting, but dang it that's progress for a boy who won't touch anything that remotely looks like bread.

Frosting face!

We sure love our little man and feel blessed that he's in our lives!

A Visit From Grandma Baird!

We were fortunate enough to have my mom come and take care of Myles for us while we were in the hospital having Wyn. Kenny and I were so nervous to leave Myles. We knew my mom would do a great job, but we'd never left him before, and he takes his time warming up to people. Anyway, things went perfectly. My mom, of course, did such a great job with Myles and he warmed up to her quicker than we were even hoping for. Such a relief!! It was great to have her here! Thanks for coming Grandma! We miss you!

Myles didn't want to be near his baby sister quite yet so we had to do this...
There's a smile!

And we made our haunted houses again for Myles' "big brother" party. It was a good time!

Wyn Aubrey Ludwig is here!!!

Wyn Aubrey Ludwig
7lbs. 9oz. 20 and 3/4 inches long.
Born Monday, October 25th at 11:25am.

We went in at 6am and things went quick! Going from 4 hours of pushing with Myles to 4 pushes to get Wyn out I am still shocked it went that fast. Oh and I love epidurals! :) We are so blessed and excited to have her in our home. She is so sweet and reminds us some of Myles. She is quieter though. :)
Our first family picture. Myles is a gentle giant and very shy around other kids, even his tiny sister. This was as close as we could get him in the picture.

Sweet babe

The littlest mermaid.
Wyn is a mermaid for Halloween. My brilliant sister, Tess, gave me the idea and encouragement to sew her some mermaid fins. It was so easy and has given me more confidence when it comes to sewing.

Another family picture of us in our Halloween costumes.
Myles is a race car driver.
Wyn the Mermaid.
And me and Kenny are the scariest of all; tired parents!
Kenny got this great shot of Myles and his motorcycle. He's so sweet! He loves to run back and forth with his motorcycle.

And our mermaid girl again.
We are so thankful for these children. They are just so sweet and fun to be around.

Sister Time, 37 weeks, and Haunted Houses!

A Halloween tradition Kenny and I started two years ago, and something I will not let go of, is making our haunted graham cracker houses. I LOVE doing this! And this year we included Myles. It was so much fun!

Kenny made a ghost mansion (on the right) this year and said that's why it looks so happy and colorful. I made a haunted dog house (in the middle) with no dog. And when we asked Myles what he made he said, "Stonehenge, of course." (Actually he pretty much just ate the candy and graham crackers and didn't want anything to do with the frosting!)

Here I am yesterday and at 37 and a 1/2 weeks. I look and feel like I am going to pop.

My wonderful sister, Tess, came for my baby shower. It was so fun to see her and her baby Graham. I miss spending time with her!
Graham and Myles crack me up when they are together. Myles is very shy around most people and just keeps saying, "Hug, hug, mommy hug" when he gets nervous. Graham is so friendly and fearless in new situations. He loves other kids. So to watch them together was so funny. The funniest thing of all was to see Myles' personal bubble completely dissolve when they took a bath together. He seemed to like having a friend in the bath to play with.

I love this picture of Tess and the boys! So cute!!

Tired sisters. We couldn't seem to get a picture of us where we didn't look exhausted. Oh well, sister time was just what I needed to finish off this pregnancy strong!!! Thanks for coming Tess!! And thanks to all who were involved in and came to the baby shower! It was so much fun!

So now we just have days to go until we welcome our baby girl into our family. I am excited and really nervous. We can raise two kids, right? I'm mostly worried for Myles and how he'll react, but I know in time he'll be happy to have a little friend. So give me all the great advice that all of you have collected with raising more than one child. Please, tell me your secrets.

A birthday and a bath!

I turned 28 at the beginning of September. Weird! At 27 I still considered myself in my mid-twenties, but 28 is definitely late twenties!!!! Yikes! It was a nice day though and Kenny got me a series of books that I fell in love with: The Hunger Games. Here's some pics of the celebration.

Here's me at 31 weeks.
I didn't really want cake. So we had brownies with ice cream and mint balls! It was DE-lish!
Myles loves the bath. Kenny was taking pics of him and Myles wanted to participate.
Reaching for the camera. His arms look so long in this picture!
Daddy very carefully let him snap some shots and these are what he got.

We love this boy!

End of the summer pics

Here are some end of the summer pics that I've been way too tired to post. Summer was so great, but I am so glad it's fall!!!!
These are in no particular order. Sorry, again I'm too tired to put them in order.

Sleepy boys!
It's so fun that Myles will sometimes snuggle with us now.

Cousin Phoebe when we went to visit Oregon.

Kurt and Myles and their cars!
Family reunion pic in St. George. This was back in June. This is a pic of the Baird side of the family. All my brothers and sisters and their spouses and children.
My mom and dad and just us kids.
Blackberry picking at Auntie Krystal's house in Oregon. Myles loved the blackberries!

Campfire at Auntie Krystal's house. And yes, I have a big marshmallow in my mouth! Lots of summer fun!!

Swimming!

Myles finished up his swimming class about a week and a half ago, and boy do we all miss it!! It was so much fun, and a nice way to get out of the house without having to play in the heat. He was so brave and did such a good job cooperating with his teacher. There were only two other little toddlers in his class. To see them all in the water was so much fun! Here are a few pics of the fun memories we made together.

Daddy and Myles.
Daddy showing Myles how to kick his legs, and Myles looking at the diving board. I love this picture! I wish it wasn't so dark!
Kenny caught this hilarious picture of Myles sucking in his belly. So funny!

One day after class I realized I'd only packed him a diaper and no clothes to change into. So he wore my shirt home. We couldn't resist taking a picture of him in it.

Daddy and Myles in the pool together.

Towards the end of the first week the teacher announced we'd be taking the kids off the diving board. I was so nervous at first, but Myles LOVED it! That's pretty much all he wanted to do after that day. Such a dare devil!

Learning to back float was not Myles' favorite thing. Finally I told him to look up at the ceiling and count the squares. That did the trick! After that he would lay back on my shoulder and count. He still talks about the squares. :)

Myles with Teacher Alex.
I have never seen Myles take to anyone the way he took to this goofy college kid. He really liked him. I'm so thankful they got along so well!

Myles and Mama before class.

He was entranced by others going off the diving board.

We made such fun memories with this swimming class! I'm glad Kenny got to go with us. I love our little family! :)
