Cakes!

Since our Nemo cake we made back in March we've gotten really into making cakes and cupcakes. It's so fun, but I might also add STRESSFUL! No, it's not that stressful, but there's so much more that goes into than I ever imagined. We really enjoy it though. Anyway, here are some of our creations.
This Little Mermaid cake is one that we actually sold. And I can't claim any of it. This was Kenny's project. He did an amazing job!

This cake we saw on a website called www.bakedecoratecelebrate.com. It's a german chocolate cake with chocolate coconut buttercream frosting. The frosting was amazing and addicting!

This is our lemon cake. Lemon pound cake with lemon buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant. We were just playing around and this is what we came up with.

This Tinkerbell cake is one we made for our niece's birthday in May. She loves Tink. Kenny did the hard part (tinkerbell) and I helped in making the butterflies. Kenny is quite amazing with his free-hand fondant art. We've decided to invest in lots of cookie cutters! It makes shaping fondant so much easier!!!

Well, that is all for now. :)

Lake Tahoe

We're back in blogland! I'm trying to play catch up before Wyn's birthday in 5 days. We'll see how I do!! :)

At the beginning of May we took a trip to Lake Tahoe for a family reunion with Kenny's side of the family. It was good to see everyone, but definitely an interesting trip.

For starters, it snowed! :) It was really pretty though.

My little Wyn Lady all ready for church. She was a little over 6 months in this picture.

Getting a bath in the sink!
We got there on a Saturday night. On Monday, mid-day, in a bowling alley, Myles threw up all over me in a bowling alley. He was running around all fine, then he came to me and wanted to be held. All of a sudden I realized he had diarhea (sorry for the details). I started walking to the bathroom and the lady who owned the alley was like, "Oh there's no changing table in the bathroom, but you can change him on the pool table." I was like, "Trust me, you don't want this one on the pool table!" How many kids have pooed on that pool table?! Ewww!! Anyway, before we hit the bathroom he started throwing up. This was his first time ever, mind you. I started calling for Kenny. Immediately my sister-in-law came to help me clean up myself and Myles in the bathroom. She was AMAZING! I couldn't have done it without her. For the next day and night Myles continued to throw up. He threw up five flights of stairs all over me. It was so CRAZY, to say the least. Myles and I didn't leave the hotel room for 2 days. Thankfully though, Wyn and Kenny didn't get sick. I started to get sick, but thanks to prayer I got better quickly. The only fun thing about Myles being sick was that he wanted to snuggle so much. I just love when he snuggles me.

This is Myles with his Auntie Krista and Uncle Kent. Doesn't Myles sort of look like a grown man in his underwear and socks? I love this picture!!

The craziness of the trip continued on Thursday when I went with my mother and sister-in-law horse back riding. I was nervous to go. Horses kinda scare me. You just never know what they're thinking about you. The ride was fine and beautiful. As I was getting off my horse, Pearl, Krista's horse (behind me) got spooked a little and started running into me a little bit, and then I realized that my mother-in-law's horse got spooked first and had thrown her off. She had to go to the emergency room. She had broken some bones in her lower back. She was a tough cookie though. I would've been bawlin' like a baby.
Seriously, this was such a crazy trip! I hope our next reunion will be much healthier and safer. Stay tuned for more recent updates! :)

The road to Nevada

On our move down to Nevada we stopped in Boise and stayed with my sister, Tess, and her cute little family. It was fun to see them. I wish we got to see them more!

In that top picture Tess looks all nice and ready for church and I'm all nice and greasy ready for a long ride in the car!

Wyn and her Auntie Tess!

This was the best picture I could get of Myles and Graham. Maybe next time we'll get one of both their faces!

Sweet Graham!

Miss Wyn haning out in the shade.

It was so fun to see them!! Someday I hope to be neighbors!

Goodbye Walla Walla

Goodbye to a good townhome, a good city, a good ward, and good friends.

My friend Danielle and I had babies a week apart. It was so nice to be able to talk with someone who was going through the exact same thing at the same time. We both had our first girls, so that was fun too! Saying goodbye to Danielle and her family was so sad!!

A Goodbye Party

Our good friends had a goodbye party for us. It was tons of fun and sad too. We're so thankful to have met so many wonderful people.

Here's all of us together one last time...until our reunion on the golf course, I mean! :)

Just the guys. I had a really hard time getting a serious picture from them. I seriously took like ten pictures of them.

Just the girls.

Cheerleading pose!

These girls were so much fun! We had many a girl's nights that made us feel like we were fifteen again. I only wish we all would've started hanging out two years ago instead of 6 months ago!

We miss you Walla Walla!!

We still have Mario Cart though, right? :)

A Bus Ride

About 2 months ago, just a couple days before we moved from Walla Walla, we took our little family on a bus ride. We had always wanted to go because Walla Walla has the cutest little trolley cars that they use for buses, and Myles was always so excited when he saw one.
So we walked to the bus stop and waited for a few minutes. The bus came and Myles was so excited to actually board the bus. Then we sat down and told him we were riding the bus to Main Street so we could go to the candy store. He was very happy with that idea.
The bus started moving and we asked him if he wanted to look out the window. He jumped up onto my lap and turned around to face out the window. I will never forget the look of complete satisfaction and excitement that came over his face. He seemed very pleased to be on the bus and to see that it was moving down the road. I'm sure being out of his car seat was a big plus too. He pointed at a big, red barn out the window and said, "Oh it's Pig's house." (Pig from Word World.)
We went to the candy store and for once that was not the highlight of our trip to Main Street, it was most definitely the bus ride. I'm so glad we squeezed that ride into the last couple days of being there. It's such a great memory! I wish we had pictures, but of course our camera battery was dead. Darn!

Back to Easter

Easter was forever ago, I know, but with the move and all blogging was put on the back burner, but I had to blog about Easter.
We went to Oregon to see my side of the family. We stayed with my sister and her wonderful family. We used to live there too and every time we visit we are reminded of just how much we miss being close to them.
It was a fun, crazy trip! I only say crazy, because Myles learned how to climb out of his play pen the first night and we had to wrestle him (literally) into a bed.
My parents had a fun Easter egg hunt with the kids and so did my sister's neighbors.
Here are some pics of the fun times!!

My good friend Andrea, who's a photographer, came to visit and surprised me by taking pics of the kids. These are just two of my faves, but all of them came out so beautiful! Thanks Andrea!!

She really captured their personalities.
Family picture on Easter

Miss Wynni Boo turned 6 months while we were there. Goes way too fast!

Myles got his first and hopefully last black eye . While we were wrestling him into bed he headbutted the windowsill. Poor guy!

Myles and Kurt

Myles is always talking about Kurt and going to Kurt's house. Then when we got there he was super shy, which I think weirded Kurt out a little bit. This was as close together as we could get them for a picture.

Cousins Lauren and Nedra at the Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Baird's house.

We brought our band hero stuff and got a little into it with my sister's kids. They were so much fun!

Lauren on drums

Nate on guitar

Lauren in mid-dance move! She's a serious dancer!

Rockin' out with Uncle Kenny!

Such a fun trip!! We miss you Oregon! Thanks for having us!!

All Tangled up!!

The New Rapunzel Do!

So Short!!!

Flynn Rider and "Eujane"
Baby Punz

So I know I have about a million posts that should come before this post, but I just wanted to post this real quick.

These last couple weeks we've been sick with terrible colds. So I asked my sister-in-law if we could borrow the movie Tangled. We all just LOVE that movie so it was nice to watch it over and over again while blowing our noses! :)

Myles loves to "play" Tangled. He is Flynn Rider, Daddy is Eujane (Eugene Fitzherbert), Mommy is Rapunzel or Tangled, and Wynni is Pascal (Rapunzel's camillion) or sometimes she gets to be baby Rapunzel (Baby Punz). It's so fun, because Myles will run around asking me where is "satchel" is. His Auntie Tess made him a little bag that is now his "satchel." It's darn cute hearing him say "satchel."

Anyway, I also cut my hair. Like really cut my hair. First time in my life I've cut it this short. I was hoping it would turn out like Reese Witherspoon's hair in Sweet Home Alabama, but Kenny and I both agreed that it looks more like Rapunzel's at the end of Tangled. I'm still getting used to it and I'm not sure I will ever do it this short again, but it was brave and kinda fun.
